First Aid & CPR/AED Training

Building a safer, more prepared running community

Zephyr Running Club (Zephyr) has been working closely with the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) since June 2025 to strengthen emergency preparedness within the club. Through this meaningful programme, Zephyr has successfully conducted 8 CPR/AED training sessions to date, equipping club members with essential life-saving skills.

These sessions were introduced as part of Zephyr's commitment to member safety, both during training and in everyday life. While we all hope never to encounter a medical emergency, being prepared can make a critical difference when every second counts. With SCDF's support, participants have gained practical knowledge in CPR/AED, first aid, emergency preparedness, fire safety, evacuation procedures, and SGSecure awareness.

These sessions were offered at no cost, making them accessible to more participants and encouraging wider community involvement. In addition to Zephyr members, the programme was also opened to other interested members from other running clubs, extending the reach of this important initiative beyond Zephyr's immediate community.

Beyond learning technical skills, the initiative reflects Zephyr's belief that every member matters and that a strong community is also a safe and caring one. By empowering runners with the confidence to respond in emergencies, Zephyr is helping to build a sporting community that is not only healthier and more active, but also more prepared to step forward when help is needed most.

To date, this initiative has enabled around 200 runners to pick up valuable CPR/AED life skills that could one day help save a teammate, a loved one, or someone in the wider community. Zephyr is proud to partner with SCDF in making our club stronger, safer, and better prepared for the future.
